2014 WHITE WINE
This wine is made with grapes grown in 25-year-old vineyards in Mas Coll Estate.
2014 GRAPE HARVEST
2014 was a year of ups and downs. In general, it rained less and Tramontana blew more gently than usual. Winter, spring and early summer were dry but in August temperatures dropped and rainfall appeared, slowing down ripening. Luckily, rain gave us a temporary relief in September, which allowed us to achieve adequate maturity levels and good conditions for harvest. In general, 2014 wines are fresh and have a moderate alcohol content, combined with intense fruit character.
Macabeo and chardonnay.
TYPE OF WINE
Dry white wine.
Oxygen-free and attention-to-detail winemaking.
Pre-fermentation cold maceration. Light pressing is carried out to obtain top quality first-press juice. Controlled fermentation (14º C) begins in small stainless steel tanks. The wine is then transferred to French 500-litre oak barrels to complete the fermentation process before ageing on the lees for 5 months.
Pale, bright and inviting lemon-green colour. The nose is filled with aromas of lemondrops and apricot, orange blossom and freshly-cut grass. Fleshy enough, refreshing, with a citrus-like finish and ready to kick off conversations.
