2012 RED WINE
This wine comes from plots in the Mas Buscà area.
2012 GRAPE HARVEST
The 2012 grape harvest was marked by a dry winter and very low temperatures in February. The spring rains helped fill up the water reserves in the soil. The summer was very dry with persistent high temperatures. Thus, the optimal level of ripeness for starting the harvest was achieved at the end of August.
85% Grenache, 15% Cabernet sauvignon.
TYPE OF WINE
Red wine aged in the barrel.
Grapes grown on vines that are 20 years old. Grapes picked and processed plot by plot in order to harvest them at their optimal point of ripeness. The grapes are placed in a vat for pre-fermentation maceration on their skins. The start of alcoholic fermentation is induced (up to 24º C), and the wine is allowed to macerate on the skins for 15 days. The ‘bled’ juice is separated from the press and undergoes malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks. Once this is complete, the wine is poured into 225-litre French oak barrels and allowed to age for 6 months.
Deep red colour with a medium to high robe. It has dense, pale tears. Blue and purple at the rim. Very expressive nose, with slightly crystallised red fruit reminiscent of blackberries and blackcurrants. The soil in the vineyard gives this wine balsamic notes. In the mouth it has a good structure and medium intensity. The large quantity of fruit along with fine, silky tannins makes it easy to drink.
